Each general contracting project overseen by S.C. Barker Construction
Company is assigned to a team captain. The team captain is responsible
for the successful completion of the project within the predetermined
budget, schedule, and quality requirements. An experienced construction
team consisting of a project superintendent, field assistants, and office
assistants supports the team captain. The general contracting services

- Establish a list of qualified subcontractors for the project.
- Review subcontractors' proposals for adherence to scope, scheduling, and quality.
- Submit a firm lump-sum price.
- Value engineering to bring project within the owner's budget.

- Award subcontracts to low-bidding, qualified subcontractors.
- Provide supervision over the project.
- Refine the project schedule.
- Progress meetings to coordinate submittals, schedule, material deliveries, testing/inspection reports, proposal requests, and payment applications.
- Obtain necessary inspections/approvals through local agencies.
- Monitor the project punch list to ensure timely completion of work.
- Submit to owner all warranties, guarantees, operation, and maintenance manuals at close-out.
